Governance Readiness Survey

Welcome!

This assessment is designed to capture how directors and management experience governance in practice. It isn’t a test — it’s a reflection on what you observe and where you see opportunities to strengthen your board’s collective effectiveness.

How To Respond:

You’ll rate a few short statements on a scale from 1 (mostly untrue) to 5 (mostly true), followed by one open question per topic.

For each statement, choose the option that best reflects your board’s current practice:

1 – Mostly Untrue: Rarely evident in practice

2 – Often Untrue: Generally not practiced

3 – Inconsistent: Evident at times but not consistent

4 – Often True: Normally practiced, though not always

5 – Mostly True: Consistent and well-established practice

The survey takes about 5–10 minutes to complete.

Why It Matters:

Your responses will help build a clearer picture of your board’s readiness, highlighting strengths and areas for focus during the Essentials of Director Accountability (EDA) workshops.

Confidentiality

While we collect basic details like your name and role to group responses, individual input will never be shared or attributed. Results are summarized to reflect collective themes across the board and management team.

There are no right or wrong answers. This process is about strengthening governance practice and ensuring your board gets the most from its  engagement. Thank you for your contribution.
